Is there a European memory?

Is there a European memory? And if so, what are its constitutive elements? Is European memory and remembrance more than nostalgia?

How does European memory or the lack of thereof define our sense of being European and our sense of being citizens? These will be some of the questions addressed during the presentation of the Remembrance Strand of the Europe for Citizens program – a funding program by the EU to create a European conversation and reflection on the issues of memory and citizenship.

The lecture will include project examples from a number of European Union countries and will highlight some interesting models and stories that could be replicated across the European Union.

More information about the Europe for Citizens program can be found at: http://eacea.ec.europa.eu/europe-for-citizens/strands/european-remembran...
